Over 8000 Grape Vines are planted and ready to produce vintage harvests of crisp, clean, enjoyable wine.

Every wine bottle we make comes from the Grapes we grow.  When gowing seasons are bad we dont harvest. Our quality comes first.  Thats why in 2009 we chose not to harvest. With record levels of precipitation we cut off all the fruit in Mid-July. We focused on 2010, and so far its been worth the sacrifice. A bumper year in the makes, we are glad we keep our focus.

Our climate is typical Ontario. Cold Winters, nice summer, beautiful falls, and thats what makes it work. Dry, sunny fall weather. The main difference from us and Niagara is frost free days. On average we are a week ahead with fall frost, but that seldom effects us since we have most grapes harvested before frost in November.

Our Vineyard is based in glacial deposit soil mainly profiled as medium sand/silt. Our soil pH averages 7.1, serving as an excellent source of vital nutrients for vigorous vine growth. The vineyard area was previously tile drained for excellent drainage properties. With gently rolling hills, the vineyard is a beautiful location for growing grapes.

We grow Marchel Foch, DeChaunac, Vidal, and Baco Noir. We also grow Cabernet Sauvignon, and Pinot Noir. We prefer the hybrid varieties as they make better wine in our climate.   They also sleep better through our winter months.

In 2009 we ripped out 17 diffrent varieties, and planted Foch, Baco Noir and Vidal. They are our focus of the future of the vineyard. We will have the first harvest from these grapes in 2011. This drastic move, should see crop levels rise from 5tonnes to  30tonnes a year.

We are looking forward to that!
